Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026.

The StackForge (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at thestackforge.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Information we collect

  • Information you provide. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
  • Automatically collected information. Our hosting provider’s server logs capture standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operational purposes.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Analytics data is processed in pseudonymized form where configurable.
  • Cookies. We use essential cookies required for the site to function and analytics cookies as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How we use information

  • To respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form.
  • To secure the site against abuse (rate limiting, WAF, bot detection).
  • To analyze aggregate traffic patterns and improve our coverage.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Third parties

We share limited information with the following categories of processors strictly to operate the site:

  • Hosting provider — serves the site and stores form submissions.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate traffic analytics.
  • Affiliate networks — may set cookies when you click an affiliate link (disclosed on each post and in our Terms & Affiliate Disclosure).

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. EU residents can contact us to exercise GDPR rights; California residents can exercise CCPA rights, including the right to know and the right to delete. To make a request, use the contact form.

Data retention

Contact-form submissions are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Analytics data retention follows the default Google Analytics configuration.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
